By mid-morning, you’re deep in PLC logic (with Siemens platforms in the mix) and HMI adjustments to resolve a stubborn process deviation. A maintenance tech swings by—this becomes a teachable moment as you mentor the team through best practices in controls troubleshooting and process control.
After lunch, you lead a project check-in: scope, budget, schedule, and regulatory compliance are on track for an upcoming controls retrofit. You draft and refine a capital expenditure proposal that clearly lays out ROI and risk reduction. Later, you evaluate equipment reliability data, mapping out an upgrade plan to improve availability. Before you log off, you touch base with IT on an Industry 4.0/5.0 pilot that blends data systems with AI/ML to surface predictive insights for the plant. On rare occasions, when critical operations call, you’re the calm after-hours resource who brings systems back online.
